THE FENTY BEAUTY REVIEW + NEW CONTRIBUTOR

If you're a frequent reader, welcome back and let me introduce you to my sister Henna who will now be writing for blog! She's probably more makeup obsessed than I am and this is her first review of the much-talked about Fenty Beauty launch.

I really wanted to love this foundation having heard so many amazing reviews! However, I am so
disappointed in it. I find it super difficult to work with, which I’ve never found in any other foundation before.

It’s matte finish but dries so fast that I struggled to blend it to that flawless finish that
everyone else seems to get with it. Usually, when I first do my makeup I love the way my skin
looks but I just don’t get the same feeling with this. I found that even though I have dry skin,
meaning foundation never moves around on my face, this separated around my nose and slipped
around. Overall, I don’t love this foundation but I think that’s partially due to my skin type and that
I’ve recently found a new love for dewy foundations. I would definitely recommend oilier skin types
to give this a try!

My feelings towards this primer are pretty much the same as the foundation. I think it would work
really well for oily skin and large pores, but since I have neither it was a bit of a waste of money for
me. It seems really moisturising when you first apply it but dries to a very matte finish, which isn't
really suited to me. I didn’t notice that it made much difference to how long my foundation lasted
either, so another waste of money for me!

I love a good highlighter, and this did not disappoint! The Mean Money side is described as a ‘soft
champagne sheen’, which is exactly what it is. I like this, but it’s a bit too subtle for me to use as
my cheek highlight, so I’ve been using it down the bridge of my nose and cupid’s bow. I probably
wouldn’t by this side as a single highlight, but I do like the way it gives a subtle glow. The Hu$tla
Baby side is amazing!! It gives such a nice shimmer finish and is really easy to build up. I love this
highlighter and will definitely repurchase when I run out.

The infamous yellow gold highlight has amazed me!! The colour pay off is so intense and it’s even
better than I expected! I’m yet to use it as a highlight for my cheeks, but i’ve used it as an
eyeshadow and inner corner highlight. The colour is perfect for me, but the only problem is that the
glitter does get all over my face by the end of the day. I am in love with this highlight!

I got the contour, conceal and highlight in the trio set which are cream products which dry to a
powder finish. I can’t even describe how difficult I found these products to blend. They’re so dry on
application that it pulls at your skin, especially using the conceal shade under my eyes. When
blending them they go patchy and moved my foundation underneath. The colours were so nice but
the blending was so frustrating that I never pick them up to use. I love the colours as they work
perfect with my skin but they're just not creamy enough for me.

I really wanted to love the Fenty Beauty range, but for me personally there were more misses than
hits! The highlighters are amazing, but the rest of the products I tried didn’t work for me (probably
because of my skin type). I love that Rihanna has been so inclusive with the shade range, there is
literally a shade for everyone, but the formula just isn't quite right for my dry/normal skin. I’ve heard
rumours of her launching a dewy foundation so for now I’ll keep my eyes peeled for that!
