HOT PICKS FROM THE BODY SHOP

The Body Shop have been bringing it recently when it comes to makeup. I have always been a fan of their skin/body care but had never given their makeup collection much attention.

I first got my hands on their Down to Earth Eyeshadow Quad in Smokey Gold back in August and have been addicted ever since. The neutral toned, blendable shades make my morning routine quick and easy, as I've been opting for the darkest shadow as a replacement for my timely gel liner.

The combination of colours are a dream and will look stunning on most skin tones and faces. The formula is great, the eyeshadows are nicely pigmented with a bone shade, gold, mauve and dark brown, creating the perfect day time look. The shades work well together and blend out easily - they're so soft that even makeup novices using their fingers will find them a delight.
The Down to Earth Quad is also available in 5 different combinations.

The latest exciting launch is the Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation. There are a lot of cushion foundations on the market right now, a trend which we first saw from Korean beauty brands. Most high-end brands have picked up on the trend, but The Body Shop version is one of the first drugstore ones that I have seen, aside from L'Oreal.

Priced at £16, it's the top end of the drugstore prices but the quality and finish are great. Although it's only available in in 5 shades, I feel that they've covered the spectrum quite well. I use the shade 03 Malawi Beach which is the medium shade with a golden under tone.

This foundation is definitely light weight with a demi-matte finish. Usually I tend to go for something with a little more coverage, as this struggles to cover some of my acne scars. If you're the type who likes your skin to look like skin with a bit of support from foundation, this is the one for you. For me, this is something I would grab on the weekends or when heading out for a Sunday brunch (how sophisticated).

You can either apply it with the sponge it comes with, which picks up a nice amount of product to build your look. Or you could dip your usual foundation brush into the sponge for a quicker application. It just depends on your preference.

It's definitely one to recommend for the winter months, as it keeps your skin nicely hydrated and balanced. Particularly those with normal to dry skin will be a fan of this.

What do you think of the cushion foundation trend? Will you be trying it out? I'm definitely going to be looking into other makeup from The Body Shop. I've had my eye on the shade adjusting drops for a while! *Waves bye to bank balance*
