#VelvetTheLipstick by Bourjois

Lipstick is back with a bang.
Say hello to the new collection of Rouge Velvet Lipsticks from Bourjois that have made me rediscover my love for lippy. I was kindly gifted the collection in the latest Vox Box from Influenster. Just when liquid lipsticks seemed to have replaced the regular lipstick, these 12 matte shades from the drugstore are sure to get the attention the deserve. The shades run from nudes, to brights, to deep reds and browns so you will definitely find one to suit your skin tone.

Of course, hand me 12 amazingly coloured lipsticks and I'll still grab the nude. They claim to last up to 24 hours - not that I'll ever find out because I love my sleep too much. But I can vouch for the lovely creamy texture, making them apply like a dream without feeling drying at all. The shade range is perfect for transitioning into autumn, sure to add a pop of colour and brighten the face as we start to layer up.

My three favourites from the collection are Hey Nude, Abrico'dabra and Brunette which you can see swatched below in order of lightest to darkest. You can see just how creamy and smooth they are. If you are hesitant about matte shades - don't be scared, these could be the perfect stepping stone for you. If you're worried, you can always apply a little balm or gloss over the top.

Here is some information on how Bourjous describe the shades on site (from left to right)

Hey Nude ! - A real beige nude like a concealer for lips.
Flaming’rose - A touch of pale nude to embellish the natural colour of lips.
Hyppink chic - Deep pink to illuminate the complexion
Hip Hip Pink - Pinky red for a trendy Marsala shade, easy to wear in any occasion.
Brique-à-brac - A reddish light brown that will match all skin tones
Abrico’dabra ! - A sweet & fresh peach nuance to brighten your look.
Joli carmin’ois - A pepsy red with an orange undertone, so luminous for a bright smile.
Rubi’s cute - An intense red for a bright timeless look.
Fuchsia botté - A beautiful fuchsia with a hint of blue and a lot of peps!
Magni-fig - This deep and intense purple, very saturated, reveals a trendy touch.
Berry formidable  - A deep burgundy colour for a sophisticated look.
Brunette - A dark brown with a red undertone, a true head-turner.

Having recently started a course of antibiotics for my acne. I thought this would be a good opportunity to share my updated evening skincare routine as I've tried to simplify it as much as possible.

If there is one thing that can brighten anyones day, it's a smile. So like the Americans do so well, we should be taking care of our pearly whites and helping to keep them white.

#DarkHairProblems + Hair Removal Advice | AD

One of my biggest insecurities growing up and still is my dark body hair and quick hair growth. Being mixed race I seem to have inherited my Dad's genes when it comes to the hair department. I thought I'd share my hair removal journey and advice from shaving to IPL Hair Removal for those in the same boat.

Brows are now my 'can't leave the house without' beauty step, straight after concealer with has my #1 top spot. Of course brows are a very personal step - some like pencils, powders or pomades so I thought I would walk you through the new YSL brow collection to find your perfect product.

This week I was lucky enough to attend the Harvey Nichols launch of the MAC x Alessandra collaboration. I've been an avid follower of Alex's work for a few years now, so when the opportunity to attend the event came about, I jumped!
